Yellow Kitchen

Yellow Kitchen

For this project, our clients were looking to create an entirely custom kitchen to accommodate their everyday needs and highlight their unique design interests. The owners, an education administrator and a NYC Ferry Captain, had a specific vision in mind in terms of the flow of the space and particular design elements, so we worked together to see their vision through. Working with deVOL Kitchens, the custom cabinetry and distinctive mustard yellow color that envelops the space, come together to create an immersive and comfortable environment that has been outfitted to incorporate their desired functionality. New windows were added to open up the back wall and add light to the previously poorly lit area.

Wallpaper by Yaël & Valérie and Eva Sonaike visually highlights the singularity of the space. During construction, an exposed brick wall with color from previous centuries was found and preserved to celebrate the existing elements of the site into the final design. The resulting intervention transformed what was once an uninspired kitchen area into a cooking and dining area with a remarkable presence and built-in functionality.
