Park Slope Railroad
The design for this Brooklyn railroad apartment revolved around reconfiguring the inefficient footprint of a railroad-style apartment in a landmarked building in Park Slope, Brooklyn. For our clients, a growing family, we began the project by relocating the kitchen from the rear of the apartment to a new communal living space toward the front of the apartment, creating better cohesion throughout the narrow home. The design added ample closet space to the expanded master bedroom, while we completely remodeled the nursery and study. Original features, such as wall moldings and fireplaces were kept intact to keep the home's original feel and aesthetic. This combination of contemporary amenities and historical details transformed this space into a bright and comfortable space.
