Long Island City Apartment
Two empty nesters were looking to renovate a new apartment in Long Island City to accommodate their everyday needs, and provide accommodations for their adult children for short-term visits.
The primary scope of the project focused on an overhaul of the existing kitchen and bathrooms, which originally was devoid of personality and color. Working with Reform Kitchens, the clients selected a vibrant kitchen design that connected to their aesthetic interests, and one that works more practically for their culinary needs. Additional storage and brand new chrome countertop create the feeling of a refreshed, modern space.
The guest bedroom was outfitted with a custom-designed bunk bed, capable of fitting two full beds. Oriented in a way that allows privacy for each sleeper, the bed unit also has space for a small desk, and accommodates short- or long term visits with limited interaction between guests. The closet in the primary bedroom was converted into a built-in office desk, perfect for video calls and work from home days.
