Bed-Stuy Apartments

For this Brooklyn rowhouse in Bed-Stuy, SJA renovated two units, reconfiguring each apartment to optimize usable square footage as well as to increase brightness throughout each space. Both kitchens were gutted and remodeled with customized storage, updated appliances, and additional counter space, modernizing the original outdated configurations, and allowing for greater visibility and openness. High-performance wall-mounted radiators with minimal profiles replaced bulky and energy-inefficient units, which freed up valuable space. The design also included renovations of outdoor spaces, including a garden-level landscape and second floor terrace. Formerly neglected space, the new landscape design allows for comfortable indoor/outdoor living.
